EMBEZZLEMENT - MY OWN FAMILY MEMBER!!

WE HAD AN EMBEZZLEMENT IN OUR FAMILY!!  GEEZ....and our family is pretty saavy (just ask us!!).  My twin sister's husband was embezzled by his secretary.  Here is her story as she emailed me.......

"You know my husband had a secretary that embezzled over $150,000 from him.  She used......

his credit card to buy herself a riding lawmower and open up two "doll" supply stores. After he had her arrested, she was charged and found guilty. However, she only had to reimburse him $50,000 at $1000 per month. She had taken his payroll taxes as well as the cash flow ($50,000 that he borrowed from the bank every year). He had a pay back the loan to the bank regardless of whether or not he got a dime from her.

She wound up paying back only $37,000 in the next 7 years. Yes, his business that he had for 20 years went bankrupt.  When he appeared in court because she had not paid the balance, the judge actually talked him into not encouraging them to send her to prison because the prisons were so full and he still was not going to get his money.  Sad but true, they were right."

OK - I HOPE YOU ARE CONVINCED THAT  THE ONLY WAY AN EMPLOYER WINS IS TO PREVENT THE EMBEZZLEMENT FROM HAPPENING IN THE FIRST PLACE!!  The employer loses all the way around...the money first, their sanity second and the embezzler usually gets away with it third.

So true, so true...esp when it is a family member. Maybe they feel a little more entitled and forgivable. Very sad to me.

Wow. I've been reading your stuff for about a year now and this is basically the only sh*t I dont agree with. Give atleast a little credit where credit is due. Kobe got his ass kicked by this so called fluke. So what? Chill out. No one said the Rockets were the best team.
